Fill-It is my circular economy startup that aims to revolutionize hydration in Indonesia by creating multidrink refill stations, strategically placed around the country. These stations, powered by Internet of Things (IoT) technology, can refill themselves without human intervention, connect to users' devices to track sustainable impact, and even self-clean. It's an innovative solution designed to reduce single-use plastic waste and make sustainable hydration more accessible.
The idea for Fill-It came to me during my frequent use of public transportation in Indonesia. I noticed two major issues: first, the lack of accessible public drink options—only available in convenience stores, leading to plastic waste at stations and on public transport. Second, even when options were available, they were few and far between. Observing this gap, I envisioned Fill-It as a solution to remove these barriers by placing refill stations in more visible, accessible locations, offering a range of drinks that align with Indonesian preferences. With a prototype up and running, we could test this idea in real-world conditions.
In just three months, we developed our first prototype and successfully pitched our concept to competitions hosted by Astra International, a domestically based conglomerate company, and Ecoxyztem, Indonesia’s premier climate tech venture builder. These early wins led to strategic partnerships, including collaborations with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Our machine officially launched in August and can be found at Halte Transjakarta Bundaran HI Astra, as well as at climate exhibitions across the country.
